South Salem Senior Wins Oregon Journalist of the Year
Eddy Binford-Ross, a senior at South Salem High School, was named the 2021 Oregon High School Journalist of the Year.
Binford-Ross is now a candidate for the National High School Journalist of the Year sponsored by the Journalism Education Association. The winner of the national award will be named at Spring National High School Journalism Convention later this year.
Skylar Moore, of West Linn High School, was selected as the runner-up.
The Oregon Rookie Adviser of the Year is also awarded in March with nominations due February 14. The award is open to any publications teacher in the state in their first two years of advising.

You will also receive a welcome packet that includes a copy of the OJEA Style Guide, regarded as one of the best journalism style guides for high school students in the nation.
Non-members can still access much of our site including information about the awards, the new teacher mentoring program and upcoming scholastic journalism events in the state.
